Cast Twilight aside- Patch Will Become the New Love of Your Life

About Hush, Hush...

Falling in love was never so easy . . .or so deadly.

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Sorry Edward! Becca Fitzpatrick’s first novel entitled “Hush, Hush” will draw you in and leave you wishing for more. I admit as I picked up the book that I was fortunate enough to win from Twitter I was a little uneasy about the book, it sounded eerily like another Twilight rip off. In fact as I opened it and read the first few chapters, I thought it was. It featured a frail girl of 16 in biology class paired with the new exchange student, sound familiar at all? Not unlike Twilight I also I found myself slowly getting sucked in to the plot and the characters, but that’s were the similarities end. For whatever reason I found myself related more to the main character of the book (Nora) than I ever had to Bella or any other Twilight character, she was drastically different, and instantly I made a connection with her that I could never make with Bella. She was realistic and down to earth, that is for a novel ;)
Although some characters can be linked quite well to those of Twilight don’t toss the book yet, it’s got it’s strong points. The characters for the most part are fresh and unique, each with personal traits you as the reader can connect to The plot aside from a few similarities are new and exciting, each chapter leaving you with a feeling to continue on to the next. Her word choice throughout and the dialogue are brilliant, totally capturing your attention from page 1 to page 390...don’t believe me? I got it in the mail today around noon, by 9:30 pm I was finished with it.
It’s defiantly something I would consider buying as a gift for any teen book lover, or adult. Whether you’re 14 or 40 once you start you can’t put it down, it’s guaranteed something will pull you into this novel.

Forgive me if this is a sucky review, it’s the first one I’ve ever written but I can tell you it’s a good book, and definitely worth buying. I can guarantee also that there are no vampires, werewolves, or anything involving Forks. There is however romance, friendships, murder and lingering mysteries.

Dearly Beloved,

We gather here on this fine day to mourn the loss of our Dark Roast coffee, it seems Monday has claimed yet another victim. There he was, sitting on the counter while my mother rearranged the cabinet when he was rudely pushed off by a box of noodles,he then plummeted to the ground. The force of the blow was so great he was decapitated, spilling his dark roast goodness upon the kitchen floor. There was a moment of silence before he was to be sucked up at 20+ mph into a dark hole filled with dust and other allergens. A few stray, injured grounds blew across the floor making a bigger mess in hopes of not being sucked up. Their attempts were futile and they soon joined their brothers in the large dark hole.
While this was a sad event I must say that it made the kitchen smell particularly good, but made the coffee pot particularly empty. The coffee is survived by the remainder of the coffee not spilled and the French Roast. I hope some cockroach at the dump will be happy to find our Dark Roast, and may the grounds brew in peace.

With that settled let's move on to a more positive Monday note...a chance to win chocolate, and I'm not talking about the crappy stuff! This is the good stuff baby ;) Head on over to this awesome blog:
